Homemade Gummies

Homemade Gummies

These Two Ingredient gummies are simple to make, delicious, and nutritious.  Juice and gelatin, that’s all you need.

Let’s first geek out on gelatin real quick. The ingredient that makes these nutritious and excellent for your gut health. I like to use high quality beef gelatin, unflavored. You can find my favorite brand here . Great Lakes Gelatin is from pasture raised and grass fed beef. Gelatin is made from cooking collagen, found in bones and connective tissue (when you make bone broth and it’s cooled, that beautiful gel that forms— you guessed it, that’s gelatin). It’s a source of protein rich in amino acids. But it does not contain all 9 essential amino acids, it lacks tryptophan. It’s rich in glycine, proline, valine, hydroxyproline, glutamic acid. Gelatin is good for the joints, hair, skin, nails, brain & gut health.

To make these festive for holidays use silicone molds of various shapes, hearts for Valentine’s Day, flowers for Spring, Seashells for Summer, etc or try the traditional Bear shape.  Here’s a fun variety pack of gummy molds.
*Don’t have 100% juice- Try herbal tea! Hibiscus tea makes a beautiful pink color. Add 1 TBSP raw honey to slightly sweeten the tea.
