Gritty Explorers Summer Sessions 2025: A week long Farm to Forest nature program

About our summer program:

A week filled with fun on the farm. Our Gritty Explorers Summer Program focuses on farm life, nature, and community building.  Days are lightly structured to incorporate play and learning, while providing the opportunity to get little hands dirty in community. 

Sample Schedule:

9-9:30- Drop off and morning gathering in the big red barn

9:30-10:30- Hands on farm/nature educational activity

10:30- Snack & story (children are to bring their own snacks)

11-12: Free play, creek time, arts & crafts

12-1:00- Lunch (children are to bring a packed lunch), Games, Journaling, free time, clean up

**Sample activities include– learning about compost, picking vegetables from the garden, planting seeds, learning how to identify trees, plants and birds, making nature related crafts using items only found in the nature (pine cone bird feeders, leaf bracelets, bird nests, potato stamping), and exploring our big world from a smaller perspective using magnifying glasses. 

**Children must be potty trained and 4 years old BEFORE the start of the summer program, July 8th.

Week 1: July 7th-July 11th

• Children Ages 7-10years old 
• 9:00am – 1:00pm

Week 3: July 21st- July 25th  SOLD OUT- This week is FULL

• Children Ages 4-10 years old. Mixed age group, limited spaces for each age group
• 9:00am – 1:00pm

Meet our Summer Program Leader:

We are thrilled to welcome back Betsy Segui for the third summer season. Betsy is committed to growing our program and continuing to add in fun, educational and outdoor-focused play based activities to each week. Her love for teaching and sharing the outdoors with children goes unmatched – we are very fortunate to have her! Outside of the summertime, Betsy is a full time teacher at Covenant Life School. All classes will have one other instructor, in addition to the farm and food activities planned by Kristin & Carmen each day.
