Energy Bars

This is an old recipe that our whole family enjoys! It is a money saving recipe that also is very versatile to create different flavors. Our favorite flavor is pecan coconut. Add coconut flakes (unsweetened) mix half pecans and half cashews. For a little zing, zest some lime and lime juice. Yummy! They travel well and great to refuel with for busy on the go days. Dates offer quick energy, nuts (like cashews) contain fat and protein both needed to sustain satiety.

**For kiddos under 4 whole nuts are a choking hazard. Blend until the nuts are finely chopped, without any large pieces.
