Instant Pot Rice

Instant Pot Rice

Instant Pot Rice… seems basic to make, yet I hear how so many people mess up making rice in the Instant Pot. If you search how to make rice in the Instant Pot you will find everyone has there own technique, yet some people still mess it up. I’m going to share my exact method and even share links for the exact ingredients 🙂

Let’s first start with the main ingredient RICE. I recommend using white Basmati Rice. The exact brand I use and recommend is Lundberg. I recommend this brand because they test for arsenic. If you’re going to buy rice, look for California, Indian, or Pakistan grown rice, as these areas are the lowest in arsenic.  The rice I use can be found here or for a non organic option that can be found here .

The next ingredient is coconut milk. When buying coconut milk look for one that does not contain guar gum or sulfites (preservative). I like the Native Forest brand, look for the “simple”, it’s cheaper to buy it by the case .

Both the rice and coconut milk I buy from our local monthly co-op bulk food drop. Click here to shop and find a drop near you.

Back to the rice…. I recommend making extra to have throughout the week. Rice is a great resistant starch when cooked then cooled. Resistant starch is a carbohydrate that ferments in our large intestine vs. regular carbohydrates that get digested and turned into glucose for energy. Resistant starch feeds our gut bugs, which is also known as “good bacteria” in our gut. So eat up that resistant starch.
