Strawberry Jalapeno Chia Jam

Strawberry Jalapeno Chia Jam, adds a little zing to your typical strawberry jam. This jam can be frozen and is packed full of flavor and fiber. When freezing, make sure to use a freezer safe jar. Enjoy this spread with a PB & J sandwich, or with goat cheese over a crostini or cracker.

Strawberry Jalapeno Chia Jam

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries whole
  • 1 jalapeño diced with or without seeds
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Half a lemon or lime zested & juiced

Instructions
 

  • In a medium pot, heat berries over medium low heat. Add jalapeño, chia seeds, syrup and lemon juice. Stir, bring to a boil for 8-10mins. Mash using a potato masher. Or for a smooth jam use an immersion blender. Pour into jar and cool before placing on lid. Store in the refrigerator. Freeze in a freezer safe jar.
