Blueberry Mango Smoothie

Blueberry Mango Smoothie

In our house we love smoothies. They make for a quick snack and pair well with meals. Budget friendly tip: Buy organic frozen berries (berries are top pesticide exposure fruits). My favorite smoothie cups for kiddos can be found here To save time in the morning keep all smoothie ingredients together in the freezer. A high speed blender is a must when making smoothies. Here is a budget friendly blender that is under $100.

Serving tip: Some kiddos (and adults) may not like the look of a green smoothie or a brownish smoothie, serve in a solid cup- stainless steel with a lid).

How to build a smoothie:

  • 1-2 (or more) vegetables (1 leafy green + frozen riced cauliflower)

  • 1-2 fruits (banana, mango, berries, etc)

  • A fat & protein source (nut/seed butter, nut/seeds, yogurt, etc.)

  • Liquid- Coconut water, water, etc

  • Optional- Herbs , raw honey or dates for sweetness (over ripe frozen bananas add sweetness)
